First Performance of 2018

Well, we’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at the Lodge Choir!

We had our first performance of the year at Paula’s birthday party on 17th March, and what a party it was! All of our hard work truly paid off to deliver an absolutely wonderful performance, (even if we were upstaged by Paula’s uncle!) I was so proud of you all. We keep banging on and on about having confidence and this was a perfect example that confidence. Excellent work all!

Our first rehearsal back after the party was a bit of a quiet one but everyone who managed to get to rehearsal made a fantastic effort. A special ‘well done’ goes to the alto section who were only 3 strong this week but still sounded brilliant! Chris led rehearsal this week and reminded us of an old favourite ‘One Day Like This’. This is such a lovely arrangement of a great song. We managed to get through the entire piece and sang it all the way through with the backing track which is amazing progress in just one rehearsal.

This week we will continue with ‘One Day Like This’, paying special attention to the end section which is rather tricky. We are also going to revisit ‘Tainted Love’.
