8th February – Happy!

We had another brilliant rehearsal on this horrid rainy night.

We spent almost the whole rehearsal on the new version of the old Lodge Choir classic, ‘Happy’ by Pharrell.

The new arrangement is a little more advanced than the one we did in the early days with some tricky 3 part harmony in the verses. As usual though, you are getting the hang of it really quickly.

I think that the biggest challenge in this song is the rhythm during the verses. There are some quite intricate off-beat sections which might take some tackling to get right. Have a listen to the original song at home to see if you can get a proper handle on those difficult bits and remember that you can always listen to your own parts on the members section of the website.

Special thanks and massive well done to the people who volunteered to  try singing the solo this week. You all did brilliantly! There will be another opportunity on Thursday for soloists, so if you weren’t quite brave enough to put your hand up last time, this is your chance!
